What's up, guys? Just wanted to give a quick shout out to today's sponsor, Aptos. We'll hear more about how Bitcoin, DeFi, and Aptos is heating up later today. But for now, let's get into the episode. Nothing said on Xerox Research is the recommendation to buy or sell securities or tokens. This podcast is for informational purposes only, and any views expressed by anyone on the show are solely our opinions, not financial advice. Bocaccio, Ryan, and our guests may hold positions in the company's funds or projects discussed.
Good morning. Welcome back to another Xerox research livestream. Today, we've got a bit of a special one. Double zero, is kicking things off today, and we've got Austin Pedera, cofounder of Double zero here to join us. I've also got Ryan Connor, Cash Flow's Connor here on the show, to talk all things. I think we may also have Nick Carpinito, our deep end guy at Blockworks Research joining us here maybe momentarily. But, how is everyone doing today and maybe awesome for you? Probably a busy day, but, how are we feeling this morning? Oh, you're muted.
Oh, been a very busy last few weeks leading up to this. So, it's it's awesome to have the network launched. It's been a ton of work by everyone at Double Zero Foundation, Melmedic Labs, all the different core contributors, all the different fiber network contributors. So it's been a busy few weeks here.
Is this your first token launch, or did you launch the Solana token as well?
No. I joined Solana Labs in December 2020, so they already had a a live token at that point.
Oh, wow. So first token launch. Yes. Congrats. That's awesome, man. Very cool.
Very cool. We just had Nick join us as well. Happy you could make it, as as our deep end expert, I guess, I would say here at the research team. Maybe just to kick things off, I'll I'll skip some of the ad reads for later in the show. Austin, since we have you, maybe just to get into the conversation around double 0, the 2 z token, etcetera. If you wanna give us a quick background, like, inspiration for behind the protocol, like, why it needs to be built, why you decided to build it, you know, why leave Solana and go build double zero, so on and so forth. Yeah.
So the core vision of double zero is to enable blockchains and other types of high performance distributed systems to move beyond what the public Internet is capable of. And we sort of think about this as like, oh, everything just uses the public Internet, right? It's like, well, most traditional trading systems do not run over the public Internet. Apple, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, all of these large technology companies, we think of them as public Internet companies. Google you think of as a public Internet company. Meta you think of as a public Internet company. They all run massive private
That's that's super interesting. I love the framing, and I'm so there's, like, a lot of things there. Right? There's, like, performance. I talks of centers censorship resistance. I'm super curious. You guys have seen a lot of adoption since the start here. I think, you know, we we internally, we we track we kinda comp you guys against, like, Gito adoption adoption over time from, like, the start of their announcement to now. And you guys are outpacing that historical adoption. Not to say that, you know, you know, Gino's a very impressive team, and you guys are actually being adopted at a faste
