What's up, guys? Just wanted to give a quick shout out to today's sponsor, Aptos. We'll hear more about how Bitcoin, DeFi, and Aptos is heating up later today. But for now, let's get into the episode. Nothing said on Xerox Research is the recommendation to buy or sell securities or tokens. This podcast is for informational purposes only, and any views expressed by anyone on the show are solely our opinions, not financial advice. Bocaccio, Ryan, and our guests may hold positions in the company's funds or projects discussed. Okay. Big big day for me today and big day for you guys, I guess, last
That's right. Yeah. I was already I was already chatting some. So
But what is eigenzero? What should people be looking forward to and maybe, like, a rough overview?
Yeah. Amazing. Hey. Hi, everybody. It's Sri. I'm super excited to be here. Thanks, Brian, for doing this together. What is eigen zero? Right? So as, you know, layer zero leading bridge. Right? So, you know, that's, I think, more volume than Western Union. Brian recently had a beautiful comparison.
Oh, five times Western Union in last month. Man. They're crushing.
See? Amazing. So, you know, you wanna build a crypto bridge, like, one of the big the architectures underneath, layer zero is this idea of a TVN, right, which is a decentralized validation network, which will actually verify the messages and move the messages across different chains. And a question that shows up is, how do you know that a DVN is secure, is honest, it's trustworthy? And you can have different mechanisms, right? You can have reputation, you can have many parties, it's decentralization. These are different mechanisms. A very crypto native mechanism, which is what secures basicall
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the the way I view it is, I mean, I I think we can get into a bunch of this stuff. But effectively, you know, I think there's been long standing demand for how do how do you take, like how do you add an economic stake into this layer? And there's a bunch of different ways that people, basically try to secure different sides of this. And that is everything from ZK proofs, economic security, like all of these different stacks. How do you make a stronger and stronger validation or verification layer? There's two sides of what we did. One is the framework, which is like the big
Yeah. I wanna take one tiny step back just so that the listeners can have a better grasp of what's happening. So when you say DVNs, do you wanna kind of run over why they're involved in this process altogether?
Yep, yeah. So I will try to keep this. You tell me if you want me to be more technical, we can go down a rabbit hole as much as you want. Effectively, every chain no matter what is just like an untrusted state machine. They do not know the state of each other, they don't know anything. And so, something has happened on chain A and something needs to Is gonna happen on chain B, right? So this most commonly is like burn, some massive burn a million dollars here, mint a million dollars there. There's a bunch of different ways that you can tell chain B what happened on chain A. And sometimes peopl
