I was at a dinner last night with a few people that were in the in the crypto industry, and I think the the general mentality here is that people feel very stuck. And I'm just here to tell you you're not stuck, and that's why we only talk about crypto, you know, 25 of the time now, and we talk about the rest of the market 75 of the time, is because you can go you can go trade equities, and you shouldn't miss out on this once in a generational rally. I mean, don't get don't get stuck in the permanent underclass by holding Bitcoin forever.
Here's what I think about crypto. If you work in crypto, especially if you work for a protocol like, let's just say, HBAR, Polkadot, Cardano, if you're, like, affiliated with that, quit your job. Do something else. Right? Pivot to AI or pivot to pivot to something that uses crypto to that, you know, users want. If you are a crypto trader, just delete the word crypto. Crypto. Just call yourself a trader. Jonah Van Berg. Avi Feldman. Are looking?
How are we doing?
We're doing. There's some downward price action and some stuff that I still own. The is very volatile, guys. I've been saying it for the last few weeks. Thank god. I think I
started saying, hey. Maybe it's time to to raise some cash. And the best way to navigate these markets when they're high vol is to have those single names that you think are gonna do really well and then have cash so that you can buy the dips. Because right now, what I'm seeing in the market is that we're we're getting to levels, and we're we're seeing things in the market that are happening that are kinda scaring me. And number one, as an example, is you're seeing massive moves in things like HP and Dell and these assets that are are almost catch up trades to to the rest to the rest of the ma
Zam the Zaboni. The Zaboni. Yeah, you mentioned UPNL and taxes. For those uninitiated to the abbreviations of trading company, like trading systems, U stands for unrealized. So your unrealized P and L, you know, when you run something up a lot, you have a lot of U P and L. When you sell it, it's just P and L, it's just cash in the bank, and you get taxed up the wazoo. Yeah, Avi's got a point. Taxes matter, and UP and L is substantial in some of these memory stocks and some of the, you know, just generally like compute and AI adjacent stocks. Brad, if you want to share I'm sharing my screen her
Yo. 50 times is kinda crazy, brother.
Yeah. But their earnings are going up, Avi. Right? True. So, you know, 23 times forward PE is more relevant than comparing their stock price to what they were earning before they were selling all this new stuff. Right? So just going, you know, going even deeper into the you know, this is a service that I pay for that not many people would spend $4 a year on, but it's called DRAM Exchange. These guys make indices of memory. And basically, like, okay. This is last August. The price of a DDR four sixteen gigabyte mod gigabit module was, let's call it, $8.50. Then it topped out around $77, $78.
Jonah, for the for the uninitiated, can you explain what the hell a DDR four is? Because to me, it stands stands revolution four.
