Blockworks co founder Michael Lapolito here. Quick break to talk about something we've just launched, Blockworks investor relations. As the market shifts toward institutional capital, investors want more transparency, more standardization, and a higher level of professionalism. But the traditional IR model is slow, manual, and not built for how crypto works. If you're building on chain, your data's already live, your business is already transparent, the challenge is turning that into a clear, credible story for investors. That's exactly what we're solving with Blockworks IR. It's a single plat
Absolutely. Good to see you.
So we're gonna be talking about clarity here actually in in the implication for clarity on token providers, but we are here at DaaS. So I'm curious if you guys just give us like a thirty second rundown, like how's the conference been for you guys? Any interesting conversation? You guys are both DaaS veterans as well. You've been to many of these in a non biased way. How's the conference been for you guys?
I'll I'll go first. I mean, it's been fantastic. The day one lineup was amazing. You had a lot of people, including chairman Selig and chairman Atkins dropping news. And, you know, as with every DAS, there's amazing stuff on stage, but even more in the networking, segment. So it's been really fantastic.
Awesome. Thanks, guys.
I've been impressed because I've been to, I think, every DAS, and this is the one with the highest energy that I've that I've been at, which is really saying something because market sentiment is often very correlated to the amount of energy that you experience at industry events And like so there's a huge disconnect between market sentiment and then the number of people and the excitement that I'm seeing here today. You know, we've never had, you know, our attendance typically tracks the market, right? So if Bitcoin is down 50%,
you can expect a lower attendance at the conference. This is the first time that's ever, we bucked that trend in seven years. So largest ask we ever had when Bitcoin's down 50% off the highs. So I think this like institutional bull market thing is definitely very real. And yeah, I just to echo something that you said, I think speaking to the regulators has in particular been really like encouraging to me. And it's given me a lot of energy because, you know, Paul Atkins, Michael Selig you know, Jonathan Gould of the OCC, they're really genuinely interested in this space and want to create rules
So obviously house passed clarity last year, last July, and we've been working through the Senate process and roundabouts there. We had a markup in mid January that was pushed. The ag portion of the bill, which addresses the intermediaries, made it through the agriculture committee in late January. The Senate banking bill, I think we will have a markup scheduled in a few weeks. And what's been holding it up is this negotiation over yield language between the banking lobby and the crypto interests negotiated by the White House. And but, you know, there is a very good shot at passing this before
So let's let's break down what those are. And maybe we can talk specifically from the perspective of there's obviously the yield question for stablecoins and banks. We talked about that a lot on a bunch of podcasts today. I would love to get into what this means for token projects, because one of the longest standing challenges and like biggest gray areas is what are these tokens? Are they commodities? Are they securities? We've got, you know, obviously the final version hasn't been passed here, bu
