Hey, Bell Curve listeners. I'm Rex from the expansion pod. While Mipo is out in Singapore, I wanted to share an episode that we just released on the expansion feed, diving deep into Commit Boost. We cover all things pre confirmations, inclusion lists, and more. We hope you enjoy. And if you're interested in this type of content, please be sure to give us a follow on the expansion pod RSS. Alright. Let's go. There's a huge difference between, like, 0 and one use cases, and then there's a huge difference between 1 and end use cases. So
it actually opens up. It doesn't limit the, transaction supply chain. It doesn't limit the type of modules that are built on top. It really isn't a gatekeeper. All it is is it provides a signature which expresses some commitment around how a block should be constructed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like what base sequencing is saying is that MEV boost allows us to delegate the actual block construction to other parties on behalf of, like, homestakers. Expansion was kick started by a grant from the Celestia Foundation. Nothing said on expansion is a recommendation to buy or sell securities or tokens. Rex. Good to be on. I think this has been a a bit of time coming, so I appreciate you having me. And, you know, I wanna thank you personally for all the you know, how we met is interesting, but all the work you've done for the community and education. So I appreciate that. Oh,
please. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. I mean, I'm so excited for this. Like, as you know, we've been trying to do this for at least a year. And finally, like, you guys are out in public, and we can make this happen. So super excited for it. But so let us start by, eventually, we're gonna get to commit boost and, like, the the project that you're working on. Right? But I think in order to put us in context and to, like, frame us within the modular space, like, the right place to start here is with MEV boost. And in particular, like, I'm a huge believer that we talk about modular blockchains throu
Yeah. Definitely. And I wanna give context to eventually to, the history of Commit Boost. It actually is tackling something something different. But, yeah, Medboost in particular is the most adopted, middleware across Ethereum. 90% plus of blocks are stacked this way. But, a lot of people think of Medboost, you know, why it was created was to move the auction mechanism from on chain to off chain, and then this would allow for a reduction of spam, a whole host of other benefits. You know, the other kinda component of this was that it democratized access to to MEV. Essentially, what MEV is is ad
Yeah. And just like so I think part of it that is well understood is that MEV boost, like, allowed everyone, not just the super sophisticated, highly resourced players to, like, participate in the MEV game. But just again, as context to what commit boost is, I think, like, the special insight here is that in the dark forest, before we had any of this stuff, like, it it really was, like, the dark forest where, like, behind every tree, it was just, like, may the the fittest survive. And what modularizing this technology and, like, putting it behind distinct interfaces that are well understood an
Yeah. Definitely. And there's still a lot of competitiveness. I think downstream for proposers, there's still a ce
