Welcome to the podcast where we bring you stories from founders and investors in web 3. Before we get started, this is not a financial or legal advice. It's just a conversation about things we find interesting in web 3. Views expressed are our own personal opinions. The co members or guests appearing on the show may have positions on assets they talk about. Alright. Welcome to another episode. I'm here with very special Samad. He's my ex boss. I haven't met him personally, but I'm glad that I didn't because I am 5 foot 6, and Larry is, I don't know, 7 foot, 10 foot. I don't know how tall he is
show. Thanks for having me. I'm for Direct M 611. Not 7th m c d l.
Yeah. Alright. Alright. Larry, I mean, before we get into all of the crypto stuff and your roles and responsibilities, something that I've always wanted to ask you was, you know, how did you transition from basketball to crypto? Yeah. Relatively simple. So,
I mean, going back, you know, some years, I went to the US when I was about 16, and I played basketball there for 7 years or so. 3 years in high school and 4 years in college, at least that's what I thought I would do. But then in high school, I had my first knee injury, which was her meniscus. I ended up having a surgery, and it was a bad tier, meaning, like, they had
to remove most of the meniscus,

People that were saying Bitcoin is going to $10,000,000, which even back then, you know, back then, it was, like, you know, bat shit crazy. Now it's a little you know, now you're like, oh, you know, maybe it might have maybe back then, it was bat actually crazy. And then on the other side of the spectrum, you had all the university researchers, professors, and stuff. And it was, like, these, like, 2 insanely differing v
either. So in 2018, when I think Bitcoin went down from 42 to 35100 Yeah. And you were saying that you had lots of doubts. So what is it exactly that kept you going? Because I'm pretty much sure that your friends, everyone was giving you shit about being a crypto. Uh-huh. Yeah. So I
