Speaker 0: Hi. This is the Deco podcast, and I'm your host, Saurabh. Before we begin, views expressed here are personal opinions. None of this is any kind of advice, let alone financial or legal. It's a conversation about things we find interesting.
Hi, everybody. Today, I'm joined by Joel. I hope that he's staying inside and, you know, keeping it safe, miss whatever torrential rainfalls in Dubai. Today, we have a very special guest. We have Austin Ord Adams from Anigram.
He's a software engineer with over a decade of experience and has various technical has taken on various technical roles in his career. He's going to help normies like me try to understand many things about Savanna. I'm excited to learn, like, what exactly the issues are, what are the solutions being worked on, either short term or long term. Yeah. With that, let's kick it off.
Welcome, Austin. Thanks for being here.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Thanks for having me. Excited to get into it.
Speaker 0: Can we start with your journey or your role at Agram? Because when Joel and I both took a look at LinkedIn, we didn't understand any.
Speaker 2: Yeah. I got it. Understand the man and the mystery. Right? Yeah.
Speaker 1: That's Okay. Yeah. I think like a lot of devs, I, think a lot of the differentiations between software engineers' job titles are pretty meaningless, and it's, just a collaborative, meritocracy of just being able to build things. And so I always put snarky job titles on all of my things. But, yeah, I worked, in web applications, ran my own agency for a while, then got into the finance space.
I was doing, like, automated underwriting systems and stuff for, like, alternative financing for home improvements in the US. It was like a big energy efficiency push at that time. Then I, went into IoT where I sort of got first hands on look at, how people add the buzzword blockchain to their company's pitch deck and, force their engineers to do something with blockchain. But that's kind of what got me sort of excited about it. Not Solana in the very, very early days.
