Honor to be here. It's, you know, interesting times for sure.
Yep. Absolutely. So, you know, it feels like just classic human conditioning where when something happens, we try to compare it to recent history. And so it feels like right away, everybody's trying to compare what we're seeing in terms of the supply chain shocks and comparing it to COVID. And everybody's trying to figure out, is this this is this COVID two point o in terms of just the supply shock that we're undergoing right now? And so I just wanna start off from a top line there. I'm just trying to understand, how are you thinking about what's going on within this entire world right now, an
Yeah. I think it's both similar and quite different in terms of what's happening. So I think the similarities are are obvious. There is a slowdown in import activity. There's a slowdown in freight. And so if you sort of go back to where we were in COVID, this this is really the 02/2020 story, not the '22. So most people experienced the supply chain cross crisis either on the front end, the toilet paper crisis of 02/2020, and and sort of think remember that, but it very vaguely. And then they remember sort of all the ships off the shore, which is an entirely different sort of a structural thing
And and to your point, it it has been somewhat well telegraphed that some version of this was inevitable and, you know, some many businesses were were preparing in some way or another. And when I look into the import data, obviously, we saw a ton of imports start to occur into the lead up of of Liberation Day, so months beforehand. And to my understanding, a lot of that has been actually, like, pharmaceuticals and something like that, which is quite interesting because it feels like if we rewind back to 2020, a lot of the concern there was around, okay, how do we get n 95 mask? How do we get t
So I think it's important. I mean, you make a really important point is that companies that are in sort of have very mature global sourcing operations, and these are bigger companies, had been preparing for a a supply chain, for a tariff regime, a a trade dispute for really since. I think the moment when it became pretty apparent that that Biden was not going to win the election. And so that was the debate, was sort of the moment of truth where it was sort of obvious that Biden wasn't going to be the next president or continue his presidency. And I think at best point, most of the large global
