We only have an hour, so I'll be short. So it's it's it's it's it's extraordinary. Over 30 years, and you've been doing this for a very long time, We've seen some of the most amazing tech companies have all these ups and downs. I remember when Facebook went public several years after it was founded and literally the 6 months after their IPO, the stock was down 50¢ because mobile just hit desktop and all of a sudden their business was upside down and and Zuckerberg had to reach re stabilize the company. And he's never looked back since. In fact, today, he's his stock is at an all time high. I t
Fair point on a Facebook comparison, but this is disorderly. The abrupt resignation the week before a critical financing round where they need to invest in more AI capability. On the heels of drama where the board terminated Sam Altman in the last quarter of last year. This is not something we saw with Facebook. Something is wrong. I
would say something is wrong for something is different is what I would say for the industry, AI industry. Let me give you one other framing for AI, not just for OpenAI, but for Anthropic. In fact, the a the found the company that numb the number 2 AI company that is Anthropic and most and all of their founders came from OpenAI 4, 3, 4 years ago. And Anthropic is the SafeAI company. This is an industry that if you go back to 2015, it was Elon Musk and Larry Page at a late night party debating AI and then literally came up with the notion in the origin story of this company to create a nonprofi
agree. Absolutely. Yeah. Mature
by decades. But because we have all grown up with all these fears of sci fi, terminator, these things that are possible like her, all these existential and dystopic things that are possible. AI is the only technology wave, not Internet, not PC, not cloud, not mobile, not mainframes that ever had this existential fear that people the average person who's not experienced this thinks there is more bad things about AI than good because they've never experienced it. I was getting my haircut, few days ago. And my the person who cuts my hair, she goes, oh, you're working on AI? I said, yeah. Aren't y
Hell 9,000 Space Odyssey. That's where it all started from. You know? No. No. No. No. Clark. Right?
Every movie. And the founders of these companies started with these fears for a bunch of reasons. Right. And they still have deep robot. Ilya, who's the who's one of the core founders of the company, went and founded his own company, raised $1,000,000,000 in the last couple of weeks, days when decades happen at at to do a safe superintelligence company. The other thing I'll say is all the tech waves, Ram, this is the only one where almost every aspect of AI technology across the tech stack that I talk about is a science project. It
is Research oriented. It's all research. Application oriented. Exactly.
