It's been a minute. How's how's the last how's the winter? I feel like I haven't seen you.
Yeah. Right. Last time we caught up was was dinner. Right? Yeah. Just for the second. Not too bad, man. Like, same old, same old. Got down a bit. Trading a lot. Shit's going crazy, but all in all, life's good, Life's always good.
Have you been pretty active?
I would say active, but not like, I would say the activity has kind of changed. The nature of it has changed since versus last year. Yeah. I'd say a lot more like, like you mentioned, right? Low timeframe stuff, a lot more kind of active intraday shit. Yeah. A lot less, I would say weekly or kind of monthly type research driven or like regulatory setups which has historically been my bread and butter.
Oh interesting. Yeah I didn't I actually I mean we talked a little bit about it I think the first time we met but I actually don't know Yeah. I don't know a ton about like what you when you actually got into trading. Like, was it originally crypto or are you trading something out? Or did you have tried five back? I don't
I could share some chess lore. I started out in like a prop shop market making environment. Like, just sound the line as a quad trader. Hone your sense of, oh, what is an opportunity? What is, like, a very straightforward edge look like? Did that for a few more years. Transitioned over the crypto desk there in, 2022. Started doing like, let's say, sex are funding our basis are, there first, then push for discretionary initiative.
You were running the Athena trade, but manually?
Yeah. Basic. Basically like all the big, like, prop shops are doing that just because it was so juicy back then. Right? Like infra was worse. There's like less regulatory kind of clarity. See, it kind of underwrites some risks there. Sexes were a lot shakier back then obviously too. You kind of, juiced the raider a turn. He ignored that, little rug risk as well.
So Yeah. I remember when Athena was first coming out, a bunch of people I knew who were kinda running this yeah. That that arb, they were like, no. No. Come on. Like, don't bring this to retail this quickly. Like, you're just gonna smush all the yield.
