Smokey The Bera: Berachain Is A Playground for Infinite Economic Games

Speaker 0: You're now plugged in to the Delphi podcast.

Speaker 1: Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the Delphi podcast. I'm your host, Tommy. And today, I'm joined by Smokey, the cofounder of BaraChain. Smokey, what's going on?

Speaker 2: Hey, man. Good to have, myself here, and thanks for having me. What's going on on your end?

Speaker 1: I've I've just been listening to all the BaraChain content, and the vibes are are really good. You you you guys have created something really interesting here.

Speaker 2: Thank you, man. You're too kind. I, I wish that all podcast hosts had the, the same, you know, preps game as you. I guess I'll make these questions even more interesting.

Speaker 1: Yeah. It's it's crazy too because, like, I heard the story on you guys starting with NFTs and then, you know, then doing the chain. But for some reason, you've kept this level of, like, fun and excitement and, like, memes and not taking stuff too seriously. And it seems like that's actually, like, a a pretty solid plan. It's worked well.

Speaker 2: Yeah. Thank you, man. I think that, for us, like, as a super quick context, like, myself and my co founder, Papa, spent the vast majority of our, you know, 1st careers or our past lives, I suppose, in much more suited up context, like building traditional companies and, you know, working in VC and whatnot. And I think we realized that if we're gonna like, you know, if we're gonna play in in a field like crypto, you know, why would you do that without having a bit of fun? I also think that we just realized very much from the beginning and from, like, the, you know, early bear chain c

I don't think it leans into, our personalities on one hand nor does it lean into the strengths of our community. So I think it's always been about, you know, curating a good and authentic vibe. Right? It's not, forcing people to do x or y action. It's not playing into whatever the demands of the the mob are.

It's just, let's try to do right by people and also have a good time with it.
