James: Hey, all.
Host: If you're a listener in Seoul, South Korea, I will be doing a book event there for the Korean translation of my book which in Korean is titled Ethereum Billionaires. It's on August 19th at 7 PM atchemistry spelled kemistri in Gangnam. You can go to the pinned post on my Twitter profile to RSVP at the luma link. And there's also a link to buy the book for 10% off at Kyobo book. And we will also have books there for you to buy at 20% off at the event.
Come and ask me a question or get your book signed or just hang out with other crypto people in Seoul. Again, for all the details and to RSVP at the Luma link, check out the pinned post on my Twitter, and we will also be putting the link in the newsletter starting next week. Hope to see you then.
Joe: The sentiment was like suicide watch. It was so bad on Sunday night, you know, my time, Monday morning, Asia time. I had multiple people, that I don't even know DMing me on Twitter and and and Telegram saying, like, do you think the bottom's in? I'm about to get liquidated. This is that.
Like, people texting me, getting all concerned, and I'm like, bottom's close. Like, when people really start getting this scared, it's usually when you're very close to a bottom.
James: Hi, everyone. Welcome to Bits and Bips, exploring how crypto and macro collide 1 basis point at a time. I'm your host, James Safert, tradfi archmaester, lord of Bloomberg's End, here with Alex Kruger, Kruger macro of house Asgard, protector of the realm, and Joe McCann, lord commander of asymmetric and master of bank. We're here to discuss the latest stories in the worlds of crypto and macro news. Just remember that nothing we say here is investment advice.
Please check unchainedcrypto.com/bitsandbits for more disclosures. Also joining us today is Chris Checheray, Baron of asymmetric treasury, keeper and trader of the golden ledger. Chris, why don't you, give us a little background about who you are and and, and then we'll get into the episode.
Chris: Yeah. So I'm Chris Cheture, general partner at Asymmetric, head of, Global Macro and Trading. I was, just real briefly employee 1 with Joe. And before that, I have a deep trad five background. Was at hedge funds with Brevin Howard running, you know, large gold macro books there.
I was Citibank Asia, so the Japan. I was actually based in Japan for a couple of years, ran Asia, Asia wide for sales trading research of the race business. And before that, I was Lehman Brothers in London and New York, and I was at Lehman when I went bankrupt. So I think some of my experiences are probably pretty relevant currently.
