ETH's HTTP Moment? How Ethereum Interop Layer Hopes to Fix L2 Fragmentation - Ep. 953 – Unchained — Transcript

Market views

Bullish

DEFI— EIL will unlock significant DeFi growth by removing friction from cross-chain transactions, enabling abundant block space to be used like a single chain and opening floodgates for new use cases
ETH— Ethereum scales through L2s as part of its ecosystem, with EIL solving fragmentation without introducing new trust assumptions when moving between layers
LAYERTWO— L2s will benefit from EIL unlocking abundant block space while maintaining composability, allowing them to be used like a single chain

Bearish

BRIDGES— Current bridges have varying security levels that users don't understand, with users choosing the cheapest option without realizing the risks, making them vulnerable to being replaced by trustless solutions
SOLVERS— Solver-based models have inherent trust problems as solvers must see full user intentions to execute cross-chain transactions, enabling front-running and censorship
